Worldwide support
As a prime contractor for the Department of Defense, PTI provides worldwide support for over 400 Oracle applications and databases used by DoD clients worldwide. Our support teams monitor the secure access to critical data on a 24 x 7 x 365 basis. PTI's onsite and remote database services enhance the government's ability to make data available to secure government sites around the world.
Business Intelligence using OLAP (online analytical processing) tools
Being proficient in OLAP tools, PTI helps our clients access critical data and make it available to users in a business format. The use of OLAP tools, such as Cognos and Oracle Forms and Reports, provides the government with graphs, reports, and analysis of critical data. PTI's expertise with OLAP tools allows the government to make realistic decisions based on data that has been transformed into business information.
Project management
A major Department of Defense organization engaged PTI to assist with the design and development of their web portal. As a prime provider of project management professionals that subscribe to Project Management Institute's fundamentals, PTI has helped this client to both meet their aggressive schedule and to design a portal that exceeds their original expectations. The portal is now the single web entry point for all work requirements (email, digital signatures, and applications), allowing the Government to take advantage of a cost effective thin client desktop.
Data Warehouse design and implementation
In an effort to consolidate data into a warehouse environment, PTI assisted this government organization in transitioning their data and supporting the environment on a daily basis. The warehouse consists of transactional data from multiple mainframe accounting systems integrated into a centralized data repository. The data is used by over 2000 users accessing from over 50 sites. The multi-terabyte warehouse has allowed the client to improve the availability of data for financial and human resource management worldwide.
Legacy integration and migrations
PTI staff includes several Oracle Certified Professionals specializing in conversions and migrations to help our clients install and learn about their new environments. They have been instrumental in providing multiple migrations for one military organization in their conversions for Oracle databases and Oracle's Application Server environments. PTI focuses on knowledge transfer and assists our clients in learning by providing both formal education classes (Oracle, UNIX, Linux), and professional literature. PTI has 11 published writers on staff who author database and technical manuals that are available through major distributors such as Amazon. |
